As the season transitions from Summer to Autumn, Mother Nature looks to potentially go off with a bang.
Summer like conditions are set to continue throughout the day on Monday, with a stray shower or storm possible. High temps will climb into the mid to upper 80's. A cold front will approach the region late in the evening Monday, into the early hours of Tuesday morning.
This cold front will bring the chance for showers and thunderstorms to the Tri-States, with a level one of five risk for severe thunderstorms. The main risks will be gusty winds and heavy rain. However, isolated hail and a tornado or two are not impossible if conditions line up just right before the front passes.
Once the cold front moves through, Autumn will sweep into the Tri-States with temperatures set to dip below average. For more details, tune in to WGEM News at 10 or following the football game.
