Albright, Aguirre honored by Exchange Club - Mount Olive Tribune

CALYPSO — North Duplin students Seth Albright and Abdiel Eli Aguirre have been named the Mount Olive Exchange Club Students-of-the-Month for October and November, respectively.

Albright is the son of Gina Albright of Mount Olive. He loves science and has been involved in Science Olympiad and Science Club throughout high school.

He plays the clarinet and served as the varsity band drum major as a junior and senior. His biggest accomplishment is being able to scuba dive. Albright loves to go to Florida with his family during the summer and scuba dive. He also loves to play video games.

When asked who he would invite to dinner, past or present, and why, Albright said, “I would invite Steve Irwin as he had similar interests as me.”

Albright most admires and looks up to his mother.

“She takes care of me and my sister. She has also helped me with school and other problems I have faced,” he said.

After graduation, Albright wants to attend James Sprunt Community College to finish his general education requirements and then transfer to UNC Wilmington to major in marine science.

Albright would like to become a marine biologist.

Aguirre is the son of Juan and Berenice Aguirre of Mount Olive. He has a passion for soccer, and he also plays the guitar and drums for the praise and worship band at his church. He has been involved in the Beta Club, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Herpetology Club and is president of the Science Club at North Duplin.

Aguirre said he is most proud of his parents. They have made a lot of sacrifices for him and his siblings, and they have taught him to love God and love his community.

He hopes to be able to give back to them one day.

When asked who he would invite to dinner, past or present, and why, he stated, “I would invite Donald Trump so we could talk about the future of our country.”
Aguirre most looks up to God and says, “He is the center of everything and the reason we exist.”

After graduation, Aguirre wants to attend Wayne Community College, where he hopes to get into the dental hygiene program. He wants to become a dental hygienist.

The Scholarship and Awards Committee of North Duplin Junior/Senior High School made the student-of-the-month selections.
