Hamas and Israel to release more captives during pause in Gaza fighting: Live war updates - The Washington Post

Israel and Hamas have agreed to move forward with an exchange of captives Saturday after a dispute over the amount of aid moving into Gaza, announced the Qatari government, ending a period of uncertainty over whether the truce between the two sides would hold past midnight. Under the new agreement, 39 Palestinians held in Israeli prisons are set to be released in exchange for 13 Israelis held by Hamas, along with seven foreigners, said Qatar Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson Majed Al-Ansari. Qatar and Egypt had brokered talks after Hamas said it would delay Saturday’s scheduled release of hostages because of what it characterized as Israel’s noncompliance with the exchange agreement.
