“I am excited to open this store in my hometown, especially with all the excitement and momentum that downtown Pottsville has had in the past couple of years,” said Joseph Drasdis III owner of Drasdis & Son. The store will be completely different than anything offered currently in Schuylkill County. “It's going to be a specialty shop, meaning the brands that we carry you cannot find in big box stores, such as S. Cohen, Grupo Bravo, Christopher Lena, and Mission Belt. We are passionate about bringing a variety of options to people and creating a consumer friendly setting, where they can try things on, touch, and experience the quality of the brands before making a purchase.”
Drasdis has worked closely with the Pottsville Redevelopment Authority and the Pottsville Area Development Corporation throughout this project. The property was able to be acquired with the help of the Redevelopment Authority who, in conjunction with Senator Argall, has been working diligently to provide funding for blighted, historical buildings in Pottsville. Pottsville Area Development Corporation has also been instrumental in the process with their business support and financing.
