PEORIA (HOI) -- Students at Bradley University are working with the Proctor Recreation Center to bring music and music education to local kids.
They created a music curriculum called "Bring the Beat," which is being added to Proctor's DREAM2 after-school program.
The curriculum introduces kids to songwriting, scales, poetry, and rap.
At the end of the program, the kids will all get the chance to show off their skills.
"We thought this would be the perfect opportunity to bring music to their program and just introduce their kids to the beauty of music," said Emma Knaup, the outreach coordinator for the project, "Just because we think it is a really important part of students well rounded education."
"Bring the Beat" runs for four weeks.
