Stickers bring awareness for Alcohol Awareness Month - knopnews2

NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) - April is Alcohol Awareness Month and Community Connection of North Platte is teaming up with area mentors and mentees and the Substance Abuse Prevention Coalition (SAP) to remind others of the dangers of alcohol, especially among the nation’s youth.

“We’re putting stickers on alcoholic products, reminding people to keep alcohol out of the hands of minors. It’s important because alcohol is a very serious thing, and it can affect the mind, especially during the developing years of youth, teens, and children.”

The groups are working with area businesses by placing special stickers, designed and printed by Community Connection, on the containers and boxes of alcohol. The goal, they say, is to remind people to help keep alcohol out of the possession of kids.

“Any little thing we can do, whether it’s the seller or the purchaser, keeping the alcohol away from your kids...is a good thing.”
