The holiday week has arrived! Typical of late November, we’ll see some up and down weather this week. That includes a cold front on Thanksgiving Day. Here’s what you need to know:
TONIGHT/THANKSGIVING DAY FORECAST:
-
After mostly cloudy and more humid conditions Wednesday, showers and a storm or two will develop overnight. Severe weather is not expected, but some pockets of heavy rain may set up.
-
A cold front will arrive Thursday morning, kicking up a quick-moving, broken line of showers and storms. This activity will move south of San Antonio by midday. Showers will linger for those south of San Antonio into the afternoon.
-
Behind the front, expect mostly cloudy skies, gusty winds, and cooler conditions. Winds may gust to 35 mph. Temperatures will dip into the 50s, before rebounding slightly during the afternoon.
BLACK FRIDAY FORECAST:
-
Partly cloudy to mostly cloudy skies are forecast for Friday. Temperatures will begin in the 40s and warm into the low-60s by the afternoon.
TRAVEL FORECAST:
-
The biggest impacts on Thanksgiving Day will be right here in South Texas. Still, major issues or delays due to weather are not expected.
-
Friday looks like a good travel day, with the only issues being across the Pacific Northwest and New England.
-
Wet roads may return to Texas on Saturday. Cloudy skies and light shower activity is forecast for South Texas. Otherwise, major travel issues are not expected.
-
Sunday looks to be mostly cloudy and generally dry.
