Raising Cane’s to bring chicken finger restaurant to central Pa. - pennlive.com

Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers is targeting central Pennsylvania.

The restaurant chain confirmed it’s opening a unit in Mechanicsburg in late 2023.

However, details are limited. In an email, the company said exact opening dates and addresses are not available and still subject to change.

Some Google sleuthing shows Raising Cane’s listed as a potential tenant at Beltway Towne Centre, a proposed shopping complex at the former Park Inn by Radisson Harrisburg West in Hampden Township.

The hotel is being demolished to make way for the 15-acre complex at 5401 Carlisle Pike. No land development plans have been issued for the property at this time.

Raising Cane’s was founded in 1996 by Todd Graves in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and specializes in chicken fingers. It now operates more than 550 restaurants in 29 states and the Middle East, with the closest ones in Ohio and Virginia.

Its minimalist menus include fresh fried chicken, crinkle-cut fries, cole slaw and Texas toast as well as a tangy, yet spicy secret dipping sauce.

Graves created Raising Cane’s business plan, earning the lowest grade in his class and doubt from his professor, who said a restaurant serving only chicken fingers would never succeed.

Today, Raising Cane’s ranks as one of the fastest growing fast food companies with over a billion in sales in the U.S. and annual revenue exceeding $2 billion, according to the company.
