BOISE, Idaho - Boise State Athletics, in partnership with INFLCR, launched the Boise State NIL Exchange, Thursday. The exchange is a registry which provides approved businesses, collectives, and individuals with a free-to-use custom portal for communicating with Bronco student-athletes and fulfilling NIL transactions. Interested parties can begin registering now at BroncoSports.com/NIL.
"The Boise State NIL Exchange provides us with the infrastructure to really allow us to better serve our student-athletes," director of athletics Jeramiah Dickey said. "I am excited to provide them with opportunities that maybe others don't have right now and for us to be the connector and really help them navigate a space that is still in the infant stages of growth. There is still more to come from us."
The Boise State NIL Exchange provides a one-stop shop for all facets of NIL transactions. Registered businesses can search, filter and initiate conversations with select department staff or directly with Bronco student-athletes to discuss an NIL deal. Once the deal between a registered business and a student-athlete is completed, the business will use the Boise State NIL Exchange to create a transaction that will produce a direct payment to the student-athlete (without any transaction fee) and automate a disclosure to Boise State's compliance office. All transactions within the local exchange are consolidated into one 1099 at the end of the year for easier tax reporting purposes for registered businesses and student-athletes.
Student-athletes will begin populating within the platform later this month and the first transaction is expected to take place in January.
By registering now, businesses will indicate their interest in NIL-related activities and open the door for Boise State Athletics staff to facilitate conversations, provide information about the opportunities that exist and help create impactful partnerships with Bronco student-athletes.
Boise State is one of nine schools in the nation to partner with INFLCR as an early adopter on this advancement. Creating the most student-athlete friendly NIL program in the country is a priority of the Broncos' newly-formed Business Development and Revenue Innovation unit, and the Boise State NIL Exchange is a major step toward realizing that goal.
"Our customers – from administrators, to coaches, to student-athletes – are innovative and engaged, and played a key role in helping our product team design and build the INFLCR+ Local Exchange," said INFLCR President Jim Cavale. "Our launch partners are so far ahead of the curve; I'm just humbled by the trust that they've placed in us and in the Local Exchange."
More information on the platform can be found in INFLCR's press release announcing the launch and early adopters.
