"The growth of our partnership with INFLCR, through the addition of the Local Exchange, continues to position our Arizona EDGE program and student-athletes as national leaders in the name, image and likeness space," said Arizona Vice President and Director of Athletics Dave Heeke. "As one of the first schools in the nation to utilize the Local Exchange technology, the Arizona EDGE Marketplace will be our dedicated space for the business community to connect and engage with Wildcat student-athletes for NIL opportunities. A first-class NIL program is a fundamental part of our Wildcat Way student-athlete experience that develops Wildcats into academic, athletic and life champions."
The Arizona EDGE Marketplace is the home for all NIL information, education, opportunities and reporting. Members of the business community are now able to partner directly with student-athletes on brand-focused activities, provided they are within legal protocols and follow the University of Arizona NIL protocols and are approved in advance by the Arizona Compliance department. Such activities may include autographs, promoting brands on social media, third-party media endorsements, running camps or clinics, providing private sport lessons, personal appearances and more.
"We've been working with the Wildcats since February of 2020 and have seen tremendous growth in their department's commitment to student-athlete brand development," said INFLCR President Jim Cavale. "I'm thrilled that INFLCR will assist Arizona in expounding upon the foundation they've built. With 'Arizona Edge' student-athletes can access an entire market of local businesses looking to tap into The Wildcat Way through leading technology that compliantly and functionally meets Arizona's needs."
In keeping with the longstanding Commitment to an Athlete's Total Success (C.A.T.S.), student-athletes feel empowered to be their own personal business entities through a personalized and adaptive learning experience. Arizona Edge is designed to build enduring skills that help today, tomorrow and forever whether student-athlete want to represent themselves or to be able to identify issues if others are representing them.
Among the many resources available on campus, Arizona Athletics has partnered specifically with the prestigious Eller College of Management, the James Rodgers College of Law, the FORGE program for entrepreneurs along with industry leaders like INFLCR.
