Over the past few weeks, the exchange fund has increased by more than two hundred Russian invaders, one in five of whom surrendered voluntarily.

This was reported by Andriy Yusov, a representative of the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine, at a briefing at the Ukraine-Union Media Center.

"In just a few weeks of active operations by the Ukrainian Security and Defense Forces, both defensive and offensive, our exchange fund has increased by more than 200 Russian prisoners. This means that it will be easier and more effective to return our prisoners," he said.

According to him, every fifth occupant out of this number voluntarily left their positions, threw down their weapons, and surrendered to Ukrainian soldiers.

"Every day three to five Russian servicemen surrender under the 'I want to live' program," said Andriy Yusov.

According to Vitaliy Matvienko, a spokesperson for the "I Want to Live" project, the initiative received more than 22,000 applications over the year.

According to him, the Russian Federal Service for Supervision of Communications and Information Technology (Roskomnadzor) is constantly trying to block the website's resources, but it works, and Russians can familiarize themselves with the project's terms and conditions. "Namely, those who surrender voluntarily have a number of advantages, including the possibility of being exchanged or remaining in captivity until the end of the war, and the possibility of seeking asylum in Ukraine or some European countries. In addition, the conditions in the camp are more than comfortable. At the beginning of the project, many Russians did not believe that this was possible. Over time, they have become more aware of this, and when they call now, they even express respect for how different Ukraine is from Russia, how different the peoples are, and how different the attitudes towards people are," said the spokesperson for the 'I Want to Live' project.
