London Stock Exchange Says an 'Incident' Has Halted Trading on Some Stocks

Trading in many stocks in London has been halted because of an incident, the London Stock Exchange said Thursday afternoon, without providing details.

The exchange said it is investigating the incident, which led to the abrupt stoppage of trades outside of the biggest stocks.

Trades are still occurring in securities in the FTSE 100, FTSE 250 and the International Order Book, which covers stocks from dozens of other countries.
