LYNDHURST, Ohio -- Domestic violence: Bridgewater Road
At 1:30 a.m. July 4, a man, 26, reported that his girlfriend, also 26, was “out of control” and was breaking things in their house. During an argument, the man called his girlfriend’s sister, a 24-year-old Shaker Heights resident, to come over and try to calm her sister. Police were called when the girlfriend got angry and bit her sister.
Police charged the girlfriend with domestic violence.
Water main break problems: Meadow Wood Boulevard
At 4:40 a.m. July 5, a woman notified police that her toilet was overflowing and she couldn’t turn off the water. The issue was found to be related to the water main break on Dorsh Road in South Euclid, which occurred at about 4 a.m. and created the need for a water boil alert in the area that lasted until the afternoon of July 6.
In another instance, a second Lyndhurst woman called police at 4:55 a.m. July 5 to report that an alarm was going off in her home, but that there was no fie inside her home. It was determined that the howling was coming from her toilet, again a result of the water main break.
Theft: Cedar Road
At 3:45 p.m. July 3, staff at Anthony Vine Nail Spa, 25299 Cedar Road, reported that two customers ran out of the business without pay their bill. The spa identified the two as a South Euclid woman, 21, and a Cleveland Heights man, 24. The couple received services totaling $111.
Spa management did not seek to file charges but, instead, wanted the bill paid. The couple returned and paid their bill.
Domestic violence: Churchill Road
At 7:40 p.m. July 1, a man, 68, reported that his niece, 15, threw a pot at him as they argued. The man and the teen live in the same home. Police could not determine an aggressor, and no charges were filed.
Police drove the girl to a friend’s house in South Euclid to separate her from her uncle for the night.
It was the second time police were called to the home that day as, at 3:10 p.m July 1, the man reported that four guns were stolen from his car. Later, the niece, who had taken the guns, was accompanied by her South Euclid friend’s mother as she returned the firearms.
Theft: Aldersgate Drive
At 9:15 a.m. June 30, a man reported that his 26-inch bicycle had been stolen from his property.
Attempted theft: Fairlawn Road
At 8:30 a.m. June 29, a resident flagged down a passing officer to report that, during the previous evening, someone entered their car. The content’s of the auto’s glove box were dumped out, but nothing was reported stolen.
