Facebook Inc. is preparing to bring employees back to its New York City offices.
Employees on Tuesday received an email from the company informing them that offices in Manhattan will open July 12 at 25% capacity. Masks will be required and “where possible, weekly Covid-19 testing will be required for anyone working on site,” a Facebook spokeswoman said in a statement.
Facebook employees have been able to work remotely since offices were closed last spring, and will be allowed to continue doing so until a month after their office returns to 50% capacity.
The tech giant has reopened its offices in Menlo Park, California, and Seattle at 10%. The company has said it doesn’t expect its largest offices to hit 50% capacity until early September.

Manhattan is showing signs of revival after a brutal year that saw office towers empty out when the pandemic hit. Wall Street firms and other companies are preparing to bring back more workers amid easing social-distancing rules.
JPMorgan Chase & Co. reopened its offices across the country earlier this month and plans to call back its entire U.S. workforce, at least on rotations, starting early July. Goldman Sachs Group Inc. also aims to return U.S. staff next month.
Facebook has roughly 4,000 employees in New York. Its offices at 770 Broadway, 225 Park Avenue South and in Hudson Yards will have some changes when workers return. Self-serve salad bars and fresh cookie platters will be swapped with pre-packaged meals.
