Warm front to bring 80-degree weather to Massachusetts on Tuesday - MassLive.com

Eighty-degree weather is forecast in Massachusetts on Tuesday, with warm and muggy conditions in store for the state.

Afternoon highs will climb to 81 degrees in Boston, 83 degrees in Worcester and 85 degrees in Springfield. Temperatures will reach as high as 89 degrees in Amherst, according to the National Weather Service.

While much of the state will see temperatures in the mid- to low 80s, Southeastern Massachusetts, including the Cape and Islands, should see highs in the mid- to low 70s. Temperatures will only reach 68 degrees in Chatham.

“Warm front lifts through the area Tuesday afternoon followed by summer-like warmth and mugginess away from the coast through mid week,” the National Weather Service said.

Temperatures will rise to around 90 degrees in Northern Massachusetts on Wednesday. Northern Middlesex and Essex counties will see the warmest highs. The rest of the state should see temperatures in the mid- to low 80s, though cooler highs are forecast in Southeastern Massachusetts.

Fog was a concern for coastal communities Tuesday morning. Areas of dense fog were forecast in the early morning hours, and an advisory was issued along the entire coast of the state as well as on Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket.

The dense fog was expected to diminish by sunrise, with the advisory lasting until 8 a.m. Skies will become mostly sunny after the early morning hours.
