(WSIL) -- A band of thunderstorms is forecast to enter southeast Missouri in the next few hours, bringing with it the chance of weak, short lived tornadoes.
The band of thunderstorms is tied to the remnants of what was Hurricane Laura. These are slow moving storms that will bring several inches of rain to counties in southeast Missouri before the system gets pushed eastward. The risk for brief tornadoes, and flash flooding will be our main threats, along with the potential for isolated severe wind gusts.
Chief Meteorologist Jim Rasor and the News 3 Weather Team will be tracking the storms all evening, and have an update on these storms on News 3 tonight at 10.
