Perhaps the third time will be the charm for Kenny Wayne Shepherd when it comes to playing Boarding House Park as part of the Lowell Summer Music Series.
But, to reference one of his song titles and the album it came from, “Trouble Is” … “Everything Is Broken” right now, so who knows what the future will hold?
That said, Shepherd is the latest announcement of performers who will be part of the 2021 Lowell Summer Music Series lineup. He will return to Boarding House Park, having played there in 2013 and 2015, on Friday, July 16 at 7:30 p.m. (And both shows were charms.)
Tickets are $49 in advance for general seating, $149 for premium seating. The general seating price rises to $60 on the day of the show, so make sure to get your tickets early. Fortunately, tickets go on sale Friday, Dec. 18, at 10 a.m. at https://ift.tt/1uEBCAz and by phone at 800-657-8774.
Shepherd is celebrating a quarter century as a touring and recording artist, but having signed his first record deal at 16, he’s only 43! His biggest pop hits came early in his career with “Aberdeen,” “Blue on Black” and the aforementioned “Everything Is Broken,” a Bob Dylan cover. But he has blossomed into a respected musician and a reliable presence on the concert scene.
Lowell Summer Music Series officials anticipated having a second concert announcement this week, but routing challenges with the artist led to that announcement being held off for the time being.
However, there’s more news on the LSMS front as there’s a new merchandise page featuring more custom-made items than ever before. There’s a wide variety of T-shirts, sweatshirts, hoodies, tank tops, and even items for kids and babies, all in an array of fabrics, colors and sizes. There are also face masks, mugs, tote bags, beach towels, blankets and more.
