According to ESPN’s Rob Demovsky, the Green Bay Packers worked out safety Delano Hill and pass-rusher Justus Reed today.
The Packers had two in for visits today:
S Delano Hill (2017 third-round pick of the Seahawks).
DE Justus Reed (2021 undrafted free agent from Va. Tech who originally signed with the Titans).

Hill, a 6’1”, 216-pound defensive back, was picked in the third round by the Seattle Seahawks in 2017 after an All-Big Ten career at the University of Michigan. Despite his 4.47-second 40-yard dash, Hill spent most of his career in Seattle as a backup safety. Last year, his final year in Seattle, he was placed on injured reserve for a back injury, leading to him only playing in two games in 2020.
This offseason, he was signed to the Carolina Panthers but was released off of their roster when he was activated from the reserve/COVID-19 list. In total, he has played in 42 games but only made six starts in four years in Seattle. With Vernon Scott now active, giving the Packers four safeties on game day, it seems unlikely that Hill would be an immediate signing to the 53-man roster.
Reed, a member of the 2014 high school class, is only now an NFL rookie after stints at three different college programs: Florida, Youngstown State, and Virginia Tech. Injuries and a redshirt year led to him playing in 11 games over three years for the Gators before he spent three seasons with Youngstown State at the FCS level. In his final college season, he transferred to Virginia Tech for exposure, where he posted nine tackles for loss and 6.5 sacks over 10 starts for the Hokies.
Reed spent time as an undrafted free agent with both the Tennessee Titans and the Washington Football Team this summer. The 25-year-old rookie was able to get into the first two preseason games of the Football Team’s schedule before he was let go from the organization.
With Za’Darius Smith on injured reserve, potentially long-term, Randy Ramsey on injured reserve, La’Darius Hamilton consistently listed as a healthy scratch, and Jonathan Garvin and Chauncey Rivers struggling some off the bench, maybe the team thinks they need to shake up their pass-rushing room a little.
