TOWN OF RUSSELL, New York (WWNY) - A committee of residents in the Russell area is coming together to help their community.
The ribbon was cut on the new Community Resource Exchange building located on Pestle Street in Russell.
Through community donations and a state grant, the EnRICH Committee was able to buy the building which houses items that people donate.
Those items are then repurposed to those in need.
The building is open 24 hours a day and you do not need to make an appointment to utilize it.
Anyone looking to donate items can do so by dropping them off at the Russell Public Library.
The committee hopes to do more community events in the future like holding clean-up days and planting a community garden.
