The Philippine Stock Exchange said a “technical issue” caused Wednesday’s two-hour trading halt that frustrated investors during the first week of the year.
The bourse said in a memorandum that it’s still probing the root cause of the issue with a third party front-end system provider. Trading was halted shortly after the market opened at 9:30 a.m. and resumed at 11:56 a.m. The main stock index closed down 0.8%.
