Rochester, N.Y. — The man who was injured in an exchange of gunfire with a police officer Sunday in East Rochester is now facing charges.
Officers Brad Steve and Kyle Walsh from the East Rochester Police Department responded to a 911 call of "cause unknown" just before 3:40 p.m. at an apartment on Garfield Street.
While investigating, Steve encountered Raymond Noel, 51, in a driveway outside the apartment. Police said Steve noticed that Noel had a gun and ordered him to remove his hands from his pockets.
Noel ignored the repeated commands and continued to walk toward the home, according to police, eventually pulling a handgun from his pants and pointing it at Steve.
