The Cubs have barely mentioned the existence of Sammy Sosa since the outfielder left the team in 2004, and fans are adamant it's time to end the feud.
Ahead of the ESPN documentary "Long Lost Summer" on Sunday night, the team posted a video of Sosa highlights. It received an overwhelming response in favor of bringing Sosa back to Wrigley Field.
Sosa and the Cubs have been kept apart by steroid accusations from the club that ownership wants the player to accept with an apology. Sosa has never admitted to using performance enhancing drugs.
It's worth noting that the Giants have welcomed Barry Bonds back after years of icy distance, and the Cardinals inducted Mark McGwire into their club Hall of Fame in 2017.

Sosa hit 545 home runs in 13 seasons with the Cubs and won NL MVP in 1998.
Here is a small sample of the flood of comments from Cubs fans regarding Sosa:
Congrats. The first thing you ever tweet about one of the greatest players in your franchise’s history is literally the most milquetoast description possible. Would it kill you to pretend to be a little excited, guys???
