New COVID-19 cases bring statewide total over 200 - Newscenter1.tv

Pierre S.D. –  South Dakota COVID-19 cases have risen over 200, the state Department of Health reports Saturday.

New numbers released on April 4th show COVID-19 cases at 212 in South Dakota, an increase of 25 from the day before. Recoveries continue to increase with seven newly reported as recovered, bringing the statewide number to 76.

There have been no new reported cases West River but one new recovery in Lawrence County. The greatest rise in cases came from Minnehaha County with an additional 13 cases reported.

As NewsCenter1 reported yesterday, two additional deaths have been reported in connection to COVID-19, including state Representative Bob Glanzer. The other death was reported was an individual residing at Avera Prince of Peace Retirement Community. The state health department has not yet added these two deaths to their count, “The Department does not report deaths until a certified death record has been filed. By law, a death record must be filed within five days of the date of death.” says the DOH website.
